Girls Inc. of New York City (GINYC) seeks a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to join our organization and help us meet our professional development and program quality goals. The Director of Training and Program Quality will work closely with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders to develop and execute training and program evaluations strategies for the organization.

About the Role

The Director of Training and Program Quality is responsible for designing and delivering customized, interactive training for staff at all levels. This position assesses organization-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identify and deliver training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, train, enhance and recognize employee performance and deliver consistent program quality. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. 

Responsibilities:

Training

  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment with Program and HR leadership, in line with program quality and professional development objectives
  • Delivers program and facilitation training with the support of GINYC content experts and external consultants
  • Coordinates annual training and evaluation calendar. Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events
  • Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results and modify programs as needed
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization

Annual Program Evaluation

  • Work closely with senior leadership and Evaluation consultant to deliver annual program evaluation report(s)
  • Develop and implement strategies for the collection of data in support of annual program evaluation objectives. Create and revise tools and data collection procedures accordingly
  • Coordinate all facets of program evaluation in line with policy compliance to ensure the integrity of procedures, data, and final deliverables (e.g. securing parental/guardian consent, collection of required student enrollment and report cards data, implementation of pre- and post-surveys, implementation of focus groups & coordination of stakeholder interviews, review and provide feedback on evaluation reports in progress)
  • Continually refine and monitor research and evaluation objectives
  • Oversee the implementation of the Girls Inc. National SSBOS (GI National Annual Survey Process) and provide on-site support during the surveying window
  • Provide support for various GI National Quality and reporting processes

Data & Systems Management

  • Organization lead for Participant Management database
  • Creates and reinforces data entry standards
  • Train staff on system use
  • Conducts regular reviews of data quality and oversees data cleaning

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong leadership, consulting and problem-solving ability combined with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel to GINYC program locations (schools) across New York City
  • Team player
  • Sense of humor
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Five years of experience in developing and implementing employee development programs
  • Experience managing research or program evaluation projects
  • Experience with youth development, human services programs
