Description

AJC is seeking a Fellow to provide substantive support to the Political Outreach staff. We are looking for a recent graduate or graduate student with experience in congressional affairs, foreign relations and/or a related field.  Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication abilities as well as excellent research, writing and editing skills. Familiarity with the functions of Congress and the legislative process, attention to detail and ability to self-motivate are critical. 

Responsibilities include tracking legislation and legislative activity, composing letters to members of Congress on AJC policy concerns, attending meetings on Capitol Hill to promote AJC priorities, communicating policy updates to AJC regional offices, and providing background research on specific members of Congress for AJC regional offices.

 AJC’s Office of Political Outreach seeks to build and cement relationships with influential political figures in order to advocate on behalf of the American Jewish community on issues such as promoting Israel’s place in the world, combating global anti-Semitism, and countering radicalism and extremism. The Office of Political Outreach is housed within AJC’s Office of Government and International Affairs (OGIA) which is actively engaged in international diplomacy and public policy advocacy, managing relations between AJC and foreign governments, Congress and the Administration, as well as interacting with a range of civic, religious, ethnic and human rights groups in Washington, D.C.
