Location: East Bay office plus Bay Area-wide travel for workshops/presentations in 9 Bay Area counties

Summary:Shalom Bayit seeks a dynamic youth educator to join our team at a pivotal moment as we expand our Love Shouldn’t Hurt teen dating violence prevention program. The Youth Educator will facilitate healthy relationships education and dating violence prevention workshops for Jewish youth, educators, and parents. Position also includes outreach and collaboration with Jewish youth organizations, assisting the Youth Program Manager in youth leadership development, training and curriculum development; and opportunities to participate in Shalom Bayit’s broad-based community work on gender-based violence.


  • Facilitate workshops on dating violence, healthy relationships, consent, and boundaries to Jewish youth (elementary through college age) as well as companion workshops for parents and educators
  • Conduct and coordinate outreach to Jewish youth groups, schools, synagogues, and camps
  • Promote Love Shouldn’t Hurt locally and nationally
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program statistics, program evaluation, records and documentation
  • Provide training and technical assistance to communities seeking to replicate or implement our curriculum
  • Help lead peer cohorts of youth interns
  • Manage the Love Shouldn’t Hurt Instagram
  • Perform all duties necessary to the function of Shalom Bayit programs, including but not limited to:
  • Collaborating with team to ensure smooth running of agency office and programs
  • Contributing to annual event production, including but not limited to youth-related programming
  • Participating in agency planning; attending staff meetings, trainings and agency events


  • Knowledge of Bay Area Jewish community and/or other Jewish communal experience
  • Background in youth leadership and/or domestic violence prevention
  • At least one year professional public speaking or workshop facilitation experience
  • BA in related field or equivalent experience
  • 40-hour domestic violence advocate training (can be completed after hire)
  • Commitment to agency philosophy, mission and vision
