The Development Manager (DM), reporting to the Director of Development and Communications (DDC) contributes to City Year San Antonio’s (CYSA) private sector revenue strategy by ensuring an exceptional donor/prospect experience that deepens relationships and expands our base of support through event-based fundraising and strategic cultivation and stewardship efforts. As a member of the front-line fundraising team, the DM is expected to build and engage stakeholders from the community and private sector.
To be successful in this role, a candidate must be a strong communicator, a strategic thinker, be stellar at relationship-building and have a strong sense of responsibility. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience, and a strong track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising or sales goals. You will be a front-line fundraiser, which means you will be measured against goals in a fast-paced environment and should be comfortable doing so.Job Description
Event fundraising: Execute all event fundraising efforts, including online campaigns (SA Impact, Fall Campaign) and special events like the annual Ripples of Hope Celebration. Each event has a revenue goal that the DM is expected to meet. In addition to fundraising for events, the DM will be responsible for ensuring sponsors receive all deliverables for event.
Private Revenue: Work with DDC to identify, cultivate, and solicit new, renewed, or increased funding from individual donors through face-to-face solicitation, online giving, direct mail campaigns, special events, and proposals. An individual annual goal will be given at start of year.
Donor Stewardship: Execute donor engagement strategy to highest level of success. This includes but is not limited to monthly touch points, preparing gifts, and preparing letters for existing donors. All activities with donors must be recorded in our CRM system (Salesforce).
Site Event Support: In this role, the DM will aid, as needed, in the execution of and/or participation in sitewide events. These events include Opening Day, Playground Build, Fall Campaign, City Year Learning Series, AmeriCorps in Action visits, Ripples of Hope, 18 Minute Networking, and Graduation.
