Sanctuary Centers of Santa Barbara is expanding and we are seeking the ideal individual to join our treatment team. We have a full time position available in our Outpatient Drug-Free Co-Occurring Disorder Program. This position will work with clients experiencing substance use and mental health disorders within the forensics/corrections field primarily in the Santa Barbara County Jail.

This position requires the capability to facilitate evidenced-based groups and individual client sessions, and provide case management, for a confined forensics population. Other responsibilities include: conducting risk and needs assessments, coordinating with community based organizations for aftercare/release services, and working in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates must be able to pass Department of Justice and FBI background check, health screen.

  • Excellent clinical documentation skills
  • One of the following:

1. Master’s degree in mental health field and license eligible. Supervision hours toward MFT licensure available;

2. CATC intern with at least one year of documented experience providing substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment or related social services;

3. Certification as Alcohol and Drug Counselor.


Prior experience in performing correctional counseling to inmates in a locked detention or correctional facility.
