Italian Community Services is looking for an Executive Director who is creative, proactive and enthusiastic about preserving Italian Culture and serving the Italian American community via programs that are designed and implemented for members of our Community with health issues, economic needs and language and cultural education. The new Executive Director will have the opportunity to join an organization that is led by committed volunteer Board members, presently staffed with two other employees, and supported by volunteer ambassadors who tirelessly participate by donating funds, attending events that benefit ICS, and carry the ICS day to day objectives. The role calls for a strategy focused executive, who demonstrates strong leadership, knows how to collaborate in a way that will achieve goals put forth by the Board of Directors, and knows how to get things done.   This individual will be expected to build strong relationships for the organization in the Bay Area Community, as well as, expand ICS’ donor base to meet the needs of the strategic plan.


STRATEGY AND IMPACT: Develop and implement strategic plans that meet the goals and objectives created by the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.

INSPIRATIONAL LEADER: Authentically passionate about ICS’ mission; inspire, lead and motivate staff, volunteers, donors, event participants and the community.

RELATIONSHIPS: Establish sustainable and productive relationships with key people and organizations (influential community leaders, senior centers and other senior service providers, government agencies, hospitals, care facilities, and other health and wellness providers.

PRODUCTIVITY: Adapts as necessary to accomplish objectives and ensure deadlines are met.

FUNDRAISING: Organize and guide events that expand exposure of ICS; submit grant requests for funding, and develop ideas to produce revenue.


Capable of managing projects and leading staff, with previous experience in a senior leadership role; background in nonprofit leadership a plus

Sets goals and is committed to achieving them

Good communicator; strong verbal and writing skills, presentation skills for internal and external relationship development

 Bachelor’s degree and demonstrable success in a related field

 Fluency in English and in Italian


Compensation includes salary and benefits

Full-time employment requiring some evening and weekend obligations
