We are a multi-award winning, creative and innovative organisation with an exciting opportunity to lead one of the most innovative fundraising teams in the sector. We are looking for a Head of Fundraising Engagement, accountable for our music, gaming and innovation activities in fundraising. You will also be responsible for communications and content, ensuring all our public facing activity is supported by compelling content and a strong narrative. You will report directly to the Director of Fundraising and Communications and maximise the potential of our fundraising through superb relationship management and opportunity spotting. You will also ensure that War Child can tell the story of children affected by conflict and how we are supporting them through inspirational and captivating communications material. This is an amazing chance to lead and develop some ground-breaking fundraising – supporting your team of 12 to achieve transformational growth.

Your role

The Head of Fundraising Engagement leads the gaming, music and events, strategic projects and communications & content function, ensuring ambitious fundraising targets are met and prioritising long-term strategic growth within the fundraising team. You will have a significant impact on our fundraising activity and our relationships with key donors and partners, by setting the strategic direction of our fundraising innovation, events and engagement as well as the communications for the whole organisation. You play a crucial role in the senior leadership team in fundraising, ensuring that all our fundraising activity is aligned, and opportunities are maximised, taking a joint responsibility for the overall fundraising target.

You will be highly experienced in securing high-level gifts and have expertise in managing complex stakeholder relationships in external sectors, enabling War Child to benefit from unique opportunities. Your influence on these external stakeholders will enable us to develop a pioneering approach to fundraising, breaking down conventional barriers to achieve transformational growth. You will also be a member of the Extended Leadership Team in the organisation, working with your peers to provide leadership to the whole charity
