The ReCreate VISTA will work to grow and provide efficiency for donor management, grant writing/reporting, and community engagement by developing and implementing systems and processes in these areas. In order to build capacity to provide more hands-on STEM learning services to low-income and underserved schools, we need to cultivate more community involvement and donors.

The AmeriCorps Fund Development VISTA will work to develop, implement and operate a more robust fundraising strategy/system for ReCreate. This VISTA member will be on the ground floor of completing and fine-tuning a fund development plan insuring our long-term ability to scale-up programming to serve more low-income schools and help provide students an educational path out of poverty. 

About ReCreate: Nonprofit ReCreate builds curiosity and confidence in learning and through making. Making hands-on exploration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning accessible to all is the cornerstone of ReCreate's mission. By integrating high-tech tools with reuse materials, we provide low-cost high-impact learning and enrichment programs to the students of our region. Our learning programs span from preschool through high school. Building interest in STEAM nurtures a more vibrant community and creates a stronger future workforce. 

In addition to our STEAM program, ReCreate provides waste reduction education and also diverts over 70 tons annually of unwanted items from businesses and individuals to "recreate" hands-on learning and creative expression.
