Working as part of our wider community and a key member of our leadership team, the Manager Director is the key resource for operational and human resource expertise, strategic planning, staff growth and professional development. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and will supervise the Program Operations Manager and the Finance & Operations Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Oversight Leads all financial control functions, including accounting information systems, budget development, cash management and projections, fiscal grant reporting in collaboration with the Grants Manager, audit and tax preparation. They will provide leadership in finance and budget development while assuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, accounting principles, organizational policies, grant requirements, and monitors all legal, contractual, and financial obligations for all staff. Clearly communicates financial information and budget to the staff, board, and committees.
Human Resources Provide guidance and oversight to the Finance & Operations Manager for HR operations functions. Ensure Arts Corps HR practices are in compliance with city, state, and federal labor laws. Stay up-to-date with legal issues and implement policy changes as needed in collaboration with the Office Manager. Work closely with staff and other leaders in the organization to provide professional insight, advice, and support on employee relations issues. Works closely with insurance broker to ensure Arts Corps benefit and retirement offerings are competitive and administered properly, and that staff are educated about the plans. Work with the director’s team and staff to provide training and development opportunities, building a supportive environment and enhancing the staff’s professional capabilities through training and coaching. In collaboration with the Executive Director, conduct regular staff evaluations, strengthening the current structure and process, ensuring a smooth, intentional and proactive evaluation process. Oversee the process of conflict resolution within the organization as needed to build a cohesive, relationship-driven work environment.
Vision & Strategy Provide effective and thoughtful leadership by building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including youth, families, community partners, volunteers, and the board while continually reinforcing Arts Corps’ mission, vision, and values. Deliver vision and motivation, assisting in the implementation of the strategic plan. Provide analysis and recommendations for future programming, staffing, training, space, infrastructure and system needs that will help the organization more effectively carry out our mission with a focus on continual quality improvement.
Information Technology (IT) Duties include coordination with IT consultant and Office Manager to establish and maintain clear, responsive, and accessible IT systems for staff. Serve as the IT point-of-contact for staff and provide basic IT support including: computer, email, voice/data communications and general set-up for new staff. Coordinate with IT consultant to create and facilitate orientation training for new staff and trainings on new systems and standards. Manage partnership with Salesforce consultants.
