Family Violence Law Center (FVLC) helps diverse communities in Alameda County heal from domestic violence and sexual assault, advocating for justice and healthy relationships. We provide survivor-centered legal and crisis intervention services, offer prevention education for youth and other community members, and engage in policy work to create systemic change. 


OVERVIEW:  FVLC recently received funding as a subgrantee of the Alameda County Domestic Violence Support Services Only Coordinated Entry Services (DV SSO CES) Project. FVLC is hiring a Project Coordinator to work with our Housing and Gender Justice Staff Attorney and partner agency Building Futures to implement a one year project to gather information and develop recommendations regarding the integration of victim service providers into the county’s system for providing services for homeless residents to ensure that survivors have access to the coordinated entry process, are safely and confidentially assessed, and are able to make informed decisions about accessing resources. The Project Coordinator also will coordinate the creation of and Building Futures’ delivery of trainings for homeless services providers and CES staff on domestic violence and sexual assault. The Project Coordinator will be supervised by the Executive Director. Funding ends one year from the start of the project (anticipated start date in September 2019) and there may be the possibility of continued funding from the same source.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:


Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):


Policy Review and Development

Ö       Seek feedback from survivors and victim services providers and gather other relevant data to identify gaps in Alameda County’s coordinated entry system. 

Ö       In partnership with the Housing and Gender Justice Staff Attorney, develop policy recommendations to address these gaps. Review coordinated entry policies, including reviewing other counties’ domestic violence policies and DV SSO CES project goals, and propose changes and training requirements.


Training Development

Ö       Partner with Building Futures and FVLC’s Housing and Gender Justice Staff Attorney to develop a specialized training module on trauma informed care, cultural competency, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma for housing crisis response staff and service providers.


Project Coordination

Ö       Serve as point of contact for project partners and EveryOne Home Alameda County Continuum of Care and other housing service providers.

Ö       Coordinate and facilitate all project related meetings.

Ö       Coordinate Building Futures’ delivery of training for housing crisis response staff and service providers.


Other:

Ö       Assist with grant reporting.

Ö       Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


ü Masters in Public Health or Public Policy.

ü Experience in project coordination.

ü Ability to relate well with people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

ü Ability to work independently and with a team.

ü Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

ü Excellent organizational and time management skills.

ü Excellent oral and written communications skills.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

ü Knowledge and awareness of local, regional, and national issues related to domestic violence and/or homelessness.

ü Experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

ü Experience working in Alameda County.

 

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, part-time, one year position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes settings of the court room, community places, and office environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
