Job Description

RAHMA is seeking a highly-motivated individual to serve as our Finance Manager. The Finance Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for all financial activities including but not limited to invoicing, budget maintenance, analysis, financial processing and grants administration.

RAHMA is an award winning, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Washington, DC which has been recognized by The White House, Former President Obama and featured in The Huffington Post and other media. It’s mission is to address HIV & AIDS, Gender Based Violence and Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) through education, advocacy and empowerment. We envision a world where marginalized populations feel safe within their communities regardless of their sexual orientation, faith, gender identity, HIV status or lived experiences. 

Requirements

  • Average of 10 - 15 hours a week (possibility of more)
  • Remote position
  • Flexible Days and Hours
  • Efficient in Quickbooks Online

Duties

  • Compile and prepare data for grant evaluation and reporting
  • Financial monitoring, analysis and budgeting 
  • Ensures proper internal controls and financial processes are in place  
  • Maintain spreadsheets of financials, data and grant information
  • Develop annual budget for Board of Directors
  • Develop long term financial plans to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Complete monthly reconciliations
  • Prepare budget narratives and reports to funders
  • Ensure financial compliance with grant agreements
  • Assist with securing federal, state, local, foundation and governmental grants
  • Prepare financial analyses of programs for budgeting and forecasting
  • Gather and prepare 990 information for annual tax return 
  • Collect timesheets, process invoices and payroll
  • Manage Finance Intern
  • Other duties as needed

Skills/Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, public administration or other related fields
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong bookkeeping and reporting skills
  • Competent in computer skills including Excel spreadsheets, and other software systems.
  • Ability to manage time well and finish tasks in an efficient manner
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online
  • Passionate about serving populations affected by FGM/C, HIV and/or Gender Based Violence
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to follow directions, and take initiative when needed
  • Outgoing and friendly personality, professional demeanor
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating with team members effectively
  • Other duties as assigned
