Onsite Coordinator for Humanity in Perspective
16–20 hours per week (including evenings), May 2018 to April 2019
Oregon Humanities, an independent nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, connects Oregonians to ideas that change lives and transform communities.
The onsite coordinator for the Humanity in Perspective (HIP) program manages logistics for Humanity in Perspective, a college-level course that strives to increase civic participation and educational and economic opportunities for adults living on low incomes by removing barriers to lifelong learning opportunities and higher education.
This position will primarily be based at the Rosewood Initiative, our partner for the 2018–19 year, with occasional planning meetings at the Oregon Humanities downtown office. Work hours between September 2018 and April 2019 will be two days a week (days to be determined), with some of those hours in the evening when class is in session. The coordinator will plan, prepare for, and attend all class sessions, and act as the liaison between program students, Oregon Humanities, and Rosewood Initiative staff.
Oregon Humanities values equity, justice, empathy, and respect as key attributes of vital, flourishing communities. We encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups, whose professional and personal experiences will help us work toward our vision of an Oregon that invites diverse perspectives, explores challenging questions, and strives for just communities.
