Urban Alliance is seeking a Development Manager to identify, cultivate, and steward regional funding opportunities in its Baltimore, DC, and Northern Virginia portfolio. The Development Manager will primarily be responsible for writing grant proposals and reports to local government, family foundation, and corporate foundation donors. In addition, the Development Manager will collaborate with the Executive Directors of the Baltimore, DC, and Northern Virginia regions to implement fundraising plans and track moves management for major corporate job partners. The Development Manager will report to the Chief Development Officer, and will work closely with a team consisting of one other Development Manager, a Development Associate, and a Donor Relations Manager.


Proposal Writing

§ Researches opportunities, cultivates new and stewards existing relationships, and takes the lead on writing grant proposals, gathering inputs from key program staff

§ Tracks writing schedules to ensure deadlines are met

§ Successfully externally communicates the mission of the organization

§ Contributes to philanthropic regional funding goals in excess of $ 1 million per year


Grant Management & Reporting

§ Submits timely, accurate, and high-quality reports to funders

§ Tracks all application, reporting, and moves management data in Salesforce

§ Coordinates with teams across the organization to ensure grant deliverables are met

§ Supports the regional Executive Directors in developing and implementing donor cultivation plans

§ Coordinates and supports donor visits

 

QUALIFICATIONS

§ Bachelor’s degree required

§ At least 3 years of demonstrated success in fundraising or sales, including grant writing and relationship management

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills

§ Excellent project management ability

§ Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
