Organization Background:

Now in its 7th year, Harmony Project Hudson is a tuition-free music program providing PreK through high school extracurricular music instruction. HPH’s mission is to:

  • Help children realize and activate their fullest potential through the study, practice, and performance of music and the arts.

  • Lead by example in creating a healthy, supportive, and dynamic community of teachers, students, artists, and program partners that model the qualities of acceptance, creativity, freedom of self-expression, and citizenship that we aim to strengthen through our program.

Job Description:

The Operations Director is a motivated and creative individual committed to HPH’s mission and the Hudson community. This role requires a collaborative and dynamic team member who can learn and manage various computer applications and has administrative and organizational experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts, education, and community-building, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.

General Duties/Activities:

  • Handle all logistical planning and data/content management for the program.
  • Act as program ambassador and community/schools liaison.
  • Assist in the growth and development of the program.
  • Manage parent/community advisory board.
  • Attend community events and outreach opportunities, and work to facilitate HPH’s participation.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team to create and manage the program budget.
  • Maintain complete, accurate records for each student and all staff.
  • Reserve and assign class and performance spaces.
  • Coordinate student transportation (as needed).
  • Oversee the accuracy and curation of all print materials, including concert programs, newsletters, and other official communications.
  • Manage and develop social media presence.
  • Provide support necessary for fundraising, grant writing, and general program development.
  • Update programmatic materials and lesson plans from the teachers.
  • Host weekly admin meetings.
  • Maintain and facilitate communications with Parents/Staff/Harmony teachers.
  • Perform basic HR procedures: onboarding new staff, managing employee records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and administering bi-weekly payroll.
  • Prepare for HPH summer camp: budget, scheduling, community partner relations.
  • Oversee new student sign-up meetings and registration for the fall semester.
