The ideal HR Manager we are looking for will


  1. Have a strategic outlook towards people development, career pathways and its alignment with the overall growth of the organisation
  2. Have an in-depth knowledge about applicable laws and procedures
  3. Have to respond effectively to sensitive enquiries/ complaints, and present the issues to the management
  4. Have the ability to deal with ambiguity
  5. Be passionate to work for people’s development
  6. Be at ease deploying and using new technologies for various HR processes 
  7. Support the line managers in performing their people manager role


Specific Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition:  

  1. Design, develop and implement recruitment strategies, including process flow and procedures 
  2. Assess people required for successful implementation of the strategic Plan
  3. Ensure compliance to and quality of the recruitment process
  4. Liaison with colleges, Universities and institutes for recruitment for Internship sourcing
  5. Develop Internship management process and ensure compliance


Performance Management and Capacity Building: 

  1. Develop  and implement performance management initiatives, and ensure the quality of the process is maintained
  2. Coordinate capacity building initiatives
  3. Troubleshoot and facilitate timely completion


Employee Retention Plans

  1. Develop and implement initiatives that support employee retention
  2. Provide coordination support to team leaders within the organization
  3. Monitor and ensure quality of processes 


Succession Planning and Leadership Development Plans

  1. Support in developing and implementing initiatives that support leadership development
  2. Support in developing  and coordinating  succession planning across all key roles



Separation and Continuing Relationship Plans

  1. Support in developing  and implementing procedures during separation from employment
  2. Develop process and coordinate maintenance of relationship with “alumni”


Administration

  1. Maintain documentation related to all core functions, including correspondence and letters, Staff files and related documentation
  2. Maintenance of databases – staff, universities/institutes, consultants
  3. Develop and implement feedback and satisfaction surveys
  4. Coordinate with the Finance Team to process salaries
  5. Coordinate with the Internal Complaints Committee to create awareness and prevent instances of sexual harassment in the workplace


Skills:


  1. Communication (both written and verbal)– to be able to communicate to everyone in the organization from support team to leadership teams. Interact with external partners (colleges, institutions, recruiting agencies, partner organizations) 
  2. Analytical and presentation skills
  3. Negotiation skills
  4. Organisational and business awareness
  5. Conflict Management skills 


Knowledge: 


  1. Designing and implementing various people processes, systems and policies
  2. Assessment and screening tools and techniques, and application to the specific needs of the organisation
  3. Industry/ Sector best practices and application to the organisation
  4. Labor laws to ensure statutory compliances


Education & Experience:


Ideally, a MBA/ MSW with specialisation in Human Resource Management with 5 - 10 years of experience in coordinating and implementing people engagement strategies and functions


Work Ethics:


  1. Timely delivery of tasks with a focus on quality and consistency
  2. Must work with a sense of urgency
  3. Demonstrate ability in working with dynamic and cross functional teams
  4. Will invest in self-development and demonstrate that investment in work norms and outputs





General:


The ideal incumbent will demonstrate qualities of empathy, commitment to the organization’s cause, is open to new ideas and ways of doing work and achieving results, demonstrate a degree of creativity, flexibility in working hours, be mobile to travel frequently, build and sustain relationships both with internal and external teams.


Measurement:


The incumbent will be measured on the accomplishment and delivery of all components of the role as they are agreed upon between the incumbent and the reporting officer.

The measurement will also include demonstrated elements of commitment, passion, accountability, ideation, flexibility, accessibility, and system and process management as well as the expected work ethics
