Developer of New Programs and Partnerships

Job Summary:

The Developer of New Programs and Partners will lead an assessment of the training and employment needs of residents at Project HOME, followed by the design and implementation of new services to meet those needs. The objective is to increase living wage employment opportunities for residents at Project HOME to improve individual well-being, recovery, and housing stability. The developer will cultivate partnerships to bring new trainings to Project HOME and to enrich the content and delivery of existing trainings. The developer will also help to identify sustainable funding sources for new services and coordinate job fairs and hot jobs in the department.  This is a 24 – 30 month position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Size the need and opportunity for employment and education among residents at Project HOME

o   Analyze income, benefits and relevant data in Yardi and ETO

Current income

SSI/SSDI benefits

Age

Length of residency at PH

o   Analyze the severity of barriers to work that exist among residents, based on work histories, recovery and health histories recorded in ETO and through joint case reviews by ES and Residential.

o Conduct interviews and focus groups to answer questions raised by the analysis

o Based on above, estimate the number of residents who might benefit from current ES services and size the opportunity for new services to increase work readiness among residents. Consider:

Competitive employment

Apprenticeships

Candles, soaps and bookstore jobs

CPS, Forklift, MOS Word or Serv Safe cert trainings

Basic Education trainings, including GED, Computer Skills

New Services including bridge programs

·Based on assessments above, engage an outside consultant to help develop and pilot a new customer service receptionist training

Using focus groups, interviews and shadowing of current receptionists and their managers, develop:

·Procedures to carry out duties for receptionist position

·Common scenarios faced by receptionists

Include the following training topics: radical hospitality, phone and front desk etiquette, de-escalation and listening skills, emergency procedures, how to work systems (work orders, incident reports, keys and access, etc.),  safety and security, essential referrals "Who to call when ...."), typical day scenarios, emergency procedure, light cleaning and other duties

Document goals, objectives, materials needed, and step-by-step instructions to deliver the training

· Based on assessments above, identify and develop two new partnerships and one to two additional new trainings or services that will have a significant impact on helping residents get ready for work.

· Based on assessments above, make recommendations to improve apprenticeships and other existing services

· Coordinate Job Fairs and Hot Jobs for the department

o Host semi-monthly “hot jobs” on site with resume and mock interview training provided by Employment Services

o Host two major community job fairs with resume and mock interview training provided by Employment Services

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services and at least 4 years of operating experience in adult education and employment services, or related field
  • Hands on experience in program development and program evaluation
  • Strong facilitation skills and written communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with other organizations, and developing or maintaining strategic partnerships
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health/recovery issues, homelessness, unemployment, underemployment, poverty
  • Valid Driver’s license

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field
