Tenants' Rights Practice, Administrative Assistant


Job purpose


The employee will be primarily tasked with administrative and clerical duties in support of the Tenants' Rights Practice to include: legal file maintenance, date entry, and document creation for legal clinics. Additionally this person will support outreach efforts, coordinating the creation of printed outreach materials and the distribution of these materials. The administrative Assistant will also coordinate the Know Your Rights Workshop for the program in partnership with program staff, and assist with client satisfaction phone surveys. 

Duties and responsibilities 

The scope of duties will include: 

1. Maintenance of legal files for Tenants' Rights Practice. 

2. Date entry into Salesforce and other data entry needed for reporting 

3. Creation of documents on an as needed basis for legal clinics

4. Coordinate the creation, updating and distribution of outreach and marketing materials with vendors for printing and with partners for distribution. Conduct direct mailings for the Tenants' Rights Program. 

5. Coordinate the Know Your Rights Workshops with program staff and partners 

6. Assist with creation of quarterly, mid-year and annual reports to funders. 

7. Assist with client satisfaction phone servey making calls and recording results in English and Spanish. 

8. Assist with one off projects are needed. 

9. Assist with reception for all on site and off site legal clinics 


Qualifications


First and foremost, the applicant must profoundly share Centro Legal's mission and vision of social justice. In addition, the applicant must have: 

1. Excellent analytical and writing skills. 

2. Fluency in Microsoft Office. 

3. Proficient in Salesforce and database management. 

4. Ability to consistently meet hard deadlines. 

5. Commitment to providing culturally informed support to low-income populations and persons of color. 6. Proficiency or fluency in Spanish (written and verbal).

7. Knowledge/understanding of tenants' rights and eviction process preferred. 

8. Ability to thrive in a high-volume, high-stress environment. 

9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working conditions

The position also requires the provision of culturally informed and empathetic services. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
