Job Responsibilities: CAPLAW, a Boston-based nonprofit providing legal, governance and management training and technical assistance to a national network of local organizations helping low-income people achieve economic security, seeks a Communications and Events Assistant that will be responsible for assisting in the development, coordination and implementation of CAPLAW’s communications and outreach strategy. Specific responsibilities include: maintaining CAPLAW’s website, facilitating the design and distribution of electronic and print communications and resources, and facilitating the planning and implementation of CAPLAW’s annual national training conference. Coordinate and facilitate the in-house event registration for webinars; maintain the CRM database and, research and make recommendations about various technologies as needed. Occasional travel required. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, PR or a related field required. Must possess creative flair and an eye for design, demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Must have excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications as well as working knowledge of Adobe Suite programs (specifically Dreamweaver, InDesign, and Photoshop) and a keen interest in further developing knowledge of those programs. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, or a strong desire and interest to learn. Familiarity with database and e-marketing software (Salesforce preferred). Experience with webinar, events, communication and survey software/programs (preferably Campaign Monitor, Eventbrite, GoToWebinar, GetFeedback) or a strong desire and interest to learn. Commitment to working in the nonprofit sector and interest in nonprofit management and legal issues. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
