Research, Prospecting, & Cultivation Strategy

  • Conduct research on current and prospective donors with a specific focus on major donors and corporations; draft proposals and presentations
  • Prepare briefs for donor meetings for Senior Director, Philanthropic Initiatives and Executive Director, as needed
  • Create lapsed donor and existing donor retention strategy
  • Coordinate organizational stewardship efforts, including supporting the team to
  • meet deadlines, coordinating the scheduling of site visits, developing templates and
  • policies related to fundraising and donor engagement
  • Support other members of the development team on a project basis as needed 

Relationship Management and Fundraising Communications

  • Manage external donor inquiries and communications, including emails and calls from donors regarding development questions
  • Produce and send donor acknowledgement letters and other routine correspondence on behalf of the development team 
  • Oversee day-to-day management of donor database and transition of software systems to Salesforce; responsible for creation of account profiles, moves management, and donor acknowledgements
  • Develop grassroots fundraising program, including email and direct mail campaigns; conduct analysis on data related to open, click, and donation rates for email campaigns
  • Coordinate with Chief of Staff in liaising with the RefuSHE Auxiliary Board and RefuSHE Switzerland on fundraising efforts 

Event Management & Logistics

  • Serve as lead coordinator for fundraising campaigns, including annual Fashion Challenge, donor trips, and national fundraising and stewardship events
  • Support Sales & Partnerships Manager by attending local events promoting RefuSHE's social enterprise and fulfilling wholesale and partner orders
  • Provide administrative support for general development team activities in the Chicago office
  • Manage intern and volunteer recruitment, communications, and retention
