Title: – GraduateSupport Coordinator Position Summary
The primary function of the Graduate Support Coordinator is to work with the graduate support team to sustain a holistic Graduate Support Program (GSP) for all St. Andrew NativitySchool graduates as they advance into secondary education, college, additional post-secondary opportunities, and the workforce.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1.High School Placement & Transition Process
- Support the GSP team with coordinating and implementing the high school placement and transition process.
- Assist the GSP team with reviewing high school applications prior to submission.
- Assist the GSP team with general high school placement tasks, as needed.
- Document all activity and case notes in Naviance.
2.Develop, coordinate, and supervise NativitySchool Graduate SupportProgram Activities
- Track the academic and personal progress of graduates in high school.
- Contact high school graduates (11th and 12th graders)at least once a month to assist with any challenges or barriers they may be experiencing.
- Inform the Director of graduates’ progress and any issues of concern.
- Coordinate care and determine needs as well as action plans to support graduates.
- Maintain contact with parents/guardians of graduates in high school to keep them informed about the support and other opportunities we offer their graduate(s).
- Lead monthly NativityScholars meetings for each high school class cohort.
- Support high school seniors and juniors in their post-secondary planning (career/job exploration, college visits and applications, FAFSA, scholarship searches/applications, etc.).
- Coordinate the NativityScholars College & Career Coaching Program.
- Work with the GSP team to coordinate and disseminate information about summer employment and enrichment activities.
- Host group and individual meetings for parents/guardians and graduates, as needed, to offer support, information, and transition planning.
- Contact post-secondary graduates, with a focus on recent high school graduates, to offer support and assistance as well as inform them of opportunities and enrichment activities.
- Coordinate information sessions or share information about exposure events in the community for a diversity of post-secondary opportunities (e.g., college fairs, trades, vocational programs, etc.).
- Work to maintain and grow partnerships with high schools, colleges, and other post-secondary institutions, and college-readiness partners.
- Create and host a variety of career and job readiness workshops for all graduates
- Document all activity and case notes in Naviance.
3.Program evaluation projects
- Assist in the collection of information and data for strategic planning of GSP.
- Coordinate and conduct an ongoing assessment of current GSP programming.
4.Assist with additional graduate and school programming
- Assist the GSP team with special events for alumni.
- Assist the GSP team with career readiness programming.
- Maintain and updategraduate records and case files.
- Report GSP data to development staff as needed.
- Update graduate contact management database and National Clearinghouse reports.
- Create and disseminate the monthly GSP Senior newsletter (“Senior Scoop”).
- Supervise visiting graduates in the GSP office after school (3-5 pm), as needed.
5.Support otherNativity School activities as appropriate
- Participate in school activities such as faculty meetings, parent meetings, and school activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish/English is required for this position.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Preference for a degree in Social Work, Teaching, School Counseling, or Counseling.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and ease working with adolescents and young adults.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative on projects and deadlines.
- Maintains and understands the importance of confidentiality as well as adheres to the highestethical standards in practice.
- Proficient when using different forms of technology.
- Possess and demonstrate an understanding of the Jesuit tradition of which St. Andrew NativitySchool is a part.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Culturally responsive in practice and approach.
Days and Hours
This is a full-time position with generous vacation. Hours to be determined between the Graduate Support Director and the Graduate Support Coordinator as programming is developed and program needs assessed. Evening and weekend work may be expected.
