Summary: The Brooklyn Waldorf School is seeking a part-time or block Eurythmy Teacher to join our faculty in September 2018. The part-time Eurythmy Teacher will primarily instruct Middle School students in blocks; and, may be called on for substituting for our Grades Eurythmist where appropriate. Our nursery to Grade Five students experience the study of Eurythmy and movement throughout the year. With musical accompaniment, the Eurythmy teachers are expected to bring developmentally appropriate tone and speech work, develop hearty relationships with students and the community at large. The work of the students will culminate in a performance organized by the teachers. 


Essential Skills/Abilities: The ideal candidate for this position will be a qualified and skilled Eurythmist with a strong love of working with children. Additionally, the candidate will have middle school teaching experience, a Eurythmy Teacher Training Certificate, be dedicated to the study of Anthroposophy and self-development, and be excited about collegial collaboration. The Brooklyn Waldorf School provides an extraordinary Waldorf education in an urban environment for children in Parent-Child through Eighth grade.

We offer the full Waldorf curriculum complete with gym, theater, terrace gardens and outdoor play spaces. The Grades program is enriched by special subject teachers in orchestra, chorus, eurythmy, handwork, music, games, Spanish, and Chinese. The Brooklyn Waldorf School is a full WECAN member and an AWSNA developing school.


The Anthroposophic community in New York City and State is very vibrant and includes The Anthroposophic Society, Biodynamic Farms, Camphill Communities, The Threefold Education Center, Sunbridge College, and a number of area Waldorf Schools.
