Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach (www.mission-outreach.org) addresses the serious unmet medical needs of people in developing countries by collecting, repairing, packaging, and distributing medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics around the world. 

Principal responsibilities include overseeing operations focused on the acquisition, processing, and storage of critical medical supplies including:

  • Ensuring compliance with all trucking regulations, inspections, driver physicals, and equipment used certifications
  • Supervision of 4 direct reports and activities at 3 locations
  • Ensuring regular communication with product donors regarding pick-up routes and special requests
  • Works in collaboration with Operations Manager-Recipient Services to accomplish monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for shipping
  • Provides direction to the Volunteer Coordinator to eliminate unnecessary product movement and increase efficiency and output


  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or related field and 2 years supervisory experience, or 5 years' experience in an operations position with supervisory responsibilities
  • Capable of learning forklift operations
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership, relationship building, and communication skills
  • Some overnight travel may be required
  • Valid Illinois commercial driver's license and good driving record, or eligible and willing to obtain commercial driver's license within 12 months of employment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
