The position of Donor Services Coordinator (DSC) is primarily responsible for communicating and interacting with the future donors in the AGR program (donors aged 18 and over) and donor families. The DSC is essential as their role is to gather the information necessary to determine donor suitability for acceptance into the program, as well as placement within the medical research and education community. The DSC is responsible for providing the highest level of excellence in support for donor families. The majority of communication within this position takes place via telephone, email, and fax. Along with assisting donor families, the DSC will work closely with hospitals, hospice organizations, nursing homes, funeral homes, state medical examiners/coroners, and various state-run agencies.

Educational Background and Experience Qualifications : Greater than or equal to Associates Degree in Health-Care or related field (Social Work, Palliative Care, Thanatology, etc.), and/or commensurate Medical/ Surgical/ Clinical office work experience · Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, integrity, attention to detail, excellent reporting/recording skills and proper follow through · Proven track record of working empathetically, compassionately, and professionally in crisis type situations with the capability to advocate for donation while being respectful of individual family circumstances
Additional Expectations: · Shares rotational on-call duties · Strict adherence to company guidelines pertaining to signed agreement on confidentiality of information · Valid driver's license with reliable personal transportation · Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance · Comfortable sitting, walking and standing for various periods of time · Possess manual dexterity to operate phone, computer, and general office equipment · A cell phone is required when working on-call/off-site · Flexibility to work rotational shifts both in and out of the office · Willingness to work some evenings, some weekends and some holidays · Proficiency in Microsoft Office · Adheres to organizational hierarchy and complies with all HIPAA laws
Work Environment: · Primarily working at a desk or workstation in controlled temperatures, but will have exposure at times to the warehouse and lab · Understands and follows Standard Operating Procedures for working in an environment with possible exposure to potentially infectious substances or blood borne pathogens and chemicals · Exposure at times to decedents/donors while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Salary range is $15-$18 per hour depending on experience with employer paid medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees (and all of their dependents) working over 30 hrs/ week, with paid time off and retirement benefits also possible with >36 hrs/ week.
