Responsibilities

Program Overview

Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings. We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).

 

Position Overview

  • Review, monitor, and track critical psychiatric documentation (weekly session notes, initial admission psychiatric assessments, discharge summaries, medication orders)
  • Transcribe and/or upload psychiatry notes in Evolv, ensuring respective provider electronically signs any note that has been transcribed into the system.
  • Assist psychiatry staff in preparation for treatment team and individual meetings with youth (document prep, generating reports, etc).
  • Assist with scheduling and arranging any MD to MD reviews with funding sources
  • Monitoring pharmacy communication and notifications. Includes but not limited to: assisting with preparation, submission, and tracking of prior authorization documents for medication orders; and troubleshooting any issues with e-prescribing of medications.
  • Prepare and submit completed quarterly peer review documentation to corporate compliance department
  • Coordinate and arrange the medical staff schedule (medical staff of the day, on-call medical staff). Includes assisting with arranging coverage needs.
  • Assist psychiatry staff with ensuring that time cards are completed in entirety by end of pay period.
  • Schedule, attend, and record minutes for monthly medical staff meeting.
  • Ensure psychiatry and contracted medical staff maintain compliance for all required trainings and health screenings.
  • Complete and submit weekly Dept of Community Health PRTF report.
  • Complete monthly Medicaid verification checks and submitting completed report of updates to various internal departments.
  • Serve as resource and contact person for medical appointments of youth (receiving calls, arranging appts, confirming insurance information, etc). This task is done in collaboration with the campus Transportation Department.
  • Review and prepare check requests for invoices of medical services rendered to youth (dental, vision, etc).
  • Assist and coordinate with nurse manager to ensure the invoices for services rendered by contracted FNP are accurate and submitted for payment
  • Provide support to the nursing department as needed with task completion and coordination of care.
  • Maintain education supply closet, order nursing supplies, and prepare and submit invoices for
  • Maintain the schedule and record meeting minutes for Safety Committee. Coordinates agenda with the Facility Manager. 
  • Order office and other supplies needed by staff and/or youth.
  • Complete other supportive functions such as sorting/distributing mail to psychiatry staff, initiating and/or responding to emails on behalf of the psychiatry staff

Qualifications

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a Diploma from school of nursing or equivalent is required

Experience working in a mental health setting is preferred

Experience with psychiatric and/or pediatric/adolescent population is preferred

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
