At AMGA we’re paving the way for medical groups and integrated systems of care to deliver the next level of high-performance health. We have an opening for a Communications Project Assistant, reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager.


The primary responsibility of the Communications Project Assistant is to provide project coordination and administrative support to AMGA marketing programs and print and electronic publications. In addition to supporting marketing functions such as email distribution services, the position will ensure the smooth production of print and electronic publications and materials that promote and further the goals of the association. The ideal candidate will be a smart self-starter with superior organizational and administrative skills; strong communications abilities, both verbal and written; and knowledge or interest in health care. 


Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with AMGA staff who provide content to Group Practice Journal (GPJ), publications, and other materials (such as brochures and collateral items for conferences) to communicate deadlines, track submissions, and obtain approvals to ensure deadlines are met
  • Communicate with authors and public relations professionals, thank them for their contributions to GPJ, and send complimentary issues
  • Assist in coordination of printing, distribution, and promotion of GPJ and its articles
  • Coordinate mailhouse projects and serve as primary liaison with mailhouse
  • Assist in fulfillment of compensation survey mailing and correspondences
  • Provide email marketing support
  • Assist in marketing reporting


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience desired
  • Very strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; project management training a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and develop processes
  • Ability to take on multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
  • Experience with email distribution service (i.e., Informz) a plus
  • Experience working in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with strong formatting skills
  • Experience working in a database to input/update data as well as extract desired information; iMIS experience a plus
