The Support Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the direct service programs that LBBC offers to its constituents. Programs currently offered include the Breast Cancer Helpline, the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Fund, and Reading for Reassurance. Through each of these programs, LBBC connects constituents with important resources, furthering the organization’s mission of connecting people to trusted breast cancer information and a community of support.
Note: LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA. As this position can be done remotely, we will consider candidates who are based within and outside of the Greater Philadelphia region.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Breast Cancer Helpline
· Manage all calls and emails for the Breast Cancer Helpline, a peer match support program for people living with breast cancer. Triage all contacts and provide high-touch service to consumers.
· Identify, recruit and train new volunteers to properly administer the Breast Cancer Helpline.
· Provide ongoing support and communication with Helpline volunteers, including the development and implementation of continuing education sessions.
· Complete and monitor program intake forms and maintain database records.
Living Beyond Breast Cancer Fund
· Manage the LBBC Fund, which provides grants to people with breast cancer.
· Serve as the point of contact for all grant applicants, grant recipients, and other referral sources.
· Review all grant applications in a timely manner and make funding recommendations to the CEO for final approval.
· Process all approved grant applications by contacting the applicant, reviewing financial information, submitting requests for grant disbursement and tracking outcomes.
Reading for Reassurance
· Support the management of the Reading for Reassurance program, which provides age-appropriate books for children whose parent has received a breast cancer diagnosis.
· Serve as the point of contact for all program participants, and monitor and track program requests.
· Identify new books for the program and oversee inventory management.
For All Programs
· Disseminate and monitor program participant feedback surveys.
· Implement an engagement and outreach strategy for program participants, connecting them to LBBC’s other programs and services.
· Generate metrics and reports for program evaluation and improvements.
· Create and update program tools and processes for successful program implementation.
Key Requirements
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
· 2-3 years’ experience in a nonprofit setting; oncology navigation or social work setting preferred
· Knowledge of and interest in emotional, financial, and other issues which have an impact on those diagnosed with breast cancer
· Self-directed individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate work in a collaborative and high-paced environment
· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Proven ability of successful relationship building and experience using active listening skills
· Experience with program and volunteer management
· Strong computer application skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and online meeting tools (e.g. Zoom)
· Experience using relational databases (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge)
· Comfort with technology and social media platforms
· Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
