The Outreach Clinic is a non-profit health-care organization located in Brandon, Florida whose goal is to meet one-on-one with low-income, uninsured individuals to help them get healthy and remain as healthy as possible.   The clinic improves health-care access within a caring culture for the most vulnerable residents in our community. Our Mission is to promote health and wellness by providing quality healthcare services, at little or no cost, to people in our community without basic care. 

The Executive Director is responsible for creating an atmosphere where staff and volunteers succeed in meeting the objectives of the clinic’s mission.  This will be accomplished through leadership management, growth of the organization’s revenue generating capacity and the on-going development of a high-level volunteer Board.

Duties and responsibilities

·     Works with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a strategic plan, to set priorities and to allocate funds for staff and operations 

·     In coordination with the Treasurer, prepare budget, review expenditures and submit timely financial reports while implementing and monitoring the operational budget

·     Responsible for all fundraising and development activities including special events, annual campaigns, direct mail appeals, planned giving,  grants, donors and clinic partnerships

·     Responsible for the design and implementation of a plan to develop key alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support  

·     Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations with a long-term relationship management approach

·     Investigate, research and pursue new funding avenues and submit applications for grant opportunities

·     Manage the implementation of a donor database and oversee the data entry

·     Supervise, train and motivate staff, board and volunteers

·     Update and maintain the organization’s website, social media platforms and public image 

·     Meet with media, secure press coverage for development and fundraising activities and oversee the Clinic’s newsletter

·     Attend industry conferences, meet with other area non-profit clinics, provide advocacy with legislators on behalf of the clinic and engage with The National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics

·      Participate and coordinate all board meetings and strategic planning meetings

·     Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Medical Director and / or Board



·     Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

·     Possess strong public relations, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills 

·     Highly resourceful team-player with the ability to also be effective independently

·     Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

·     Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines

·     Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion while demonstrating the highest level of customer/ patient service and response

Minimum Requirements

·     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·     Strong work tenure with experience in the fund development and/or business management fields preferably with a non-profit organization

·     Experience and interest in working in the non-profit environment with a heart for the mission 

·     Proficient in the Windows environment using Microsoft Office (Excel, WORD, Outlook) and database management software.  The ability to learn other Clinic software programs as needed

·     Adhere to the Clinic’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.  Meet standards for background-screenings, social security verification, worker’s compensation injury history and Motor Vehicle Records screenings
