POSITION SUMMARY

End of Life Choices California is seeking a Development Coordinator with a minimum of two year’s experience in customer service and handling confidential/financial information to help support fundraising activities.

The Development Associate will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will join EOLCCA to work with a dedicated development team. The Development Associate will help build a fundraising framework that supports the research, cultivation, and solicitation of individual donors and sponsors as EOLCCA grows its portfolio of non-grant and grant support among different platforms and strategies, as well as provide broader development support including but not limited to donor communications and database management. We are currently using iWave and DonorPerfect in this endeavor.

We are looking for someone with demonstrated history to:

  • Provide experience and passion for building a development process and platform for a nonprofit in its third year of existence.
  • Support the development of new solicitation strategies.
  • Support a growing sponsorship program through research, communications development and outreach; identify new opportunities for funding and support through iWave.
  • Create content for online requests, manage and execute an annual appeal project with increasingly ambitious revenue goals.
  • Manage Development profiles in DonorPerfect, ensure data integrity, work with the CEO and communications staff to ensure CRM database supports individual giving and is updated regularly.
  • Manage all aspects of acknowledgement process.
  • Manage electronic filing system for Development.
  • Participate in regular Development Committee meetings and one-on-one check-ins.
  • Implement and monitor metrics and analysis of online fundraising and constituent mobilization campaigns.
  • Assist in development-related projects as needed.

TIME COMMITMENT

This is a part-time remote position, starting at 20 hours per week though it may likely grow to a full-time position as the organizational development needs grow. We are seeking someone living in California as there will likely be some organization-sponsored travel within the state of California from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prefer California resident with geographic knowledge of the state.
  • Minimum two years of experience in philanthropy or nonprofit work.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Expertise with fundraising software required; particularly iWave and DonorPerfect extremely helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with the public in a professional, timely and courteous manner are essential.
  • Thorough attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • A big plus if there is thoughtful knowledge or experience with end-of-life issues.

End of Life Choices California is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.  All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.

If you meet the above requirements and are excited by the idea of helping an important and meaningful nonprofit take the next steps to touch more peoples’ lives at one of the most important times of their lives, then this job is for you.

If interested, please send a cover letter and resume, in one attached document, to jepstein@endoflifechoicesca.org.  Also, please give us an idea of your salary expectations and please include three references.
