Position Summary: The Policy Counsel/Advocate will play a key role in implementing Public Knowledge's legal strategy through advocacy, strategy development, and relationship building in Congress, at Federal agencies, within the Executive Branch and across the public interest field

Level of Language Proficiency

Qualifications:

●        A law degree and at least three years of experience in competition, communications, technology or copyright law and/or policy OR

●        a bachelor’s degree and more substantial experience in competition, communications, technology or copyright law and policy

●        Experience with economics and competition policy preferred

●        Substantial policy and/or political experience

·      Demonstrated interest in public policy/public interest and the government decision making process


●        Experience drafting legal/advocacy documents such as briefs and model legislation preferred

●        Full comprehension of the influences of the regulatory and government agencies

●        Demonstrated ability to create legal/advocacy defensive or proactive strategies

●        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

●        High degree of professional ethics and integrity

●        Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information

●        Outstanding communication skills
