Founded in 1996, Rebound began serving children experiencing difficult circumstances who were at risk for social and academic failure. Over the years, Rebound grew in size, structure and programs, becoming an autonomous nonproﬁt social service organization in 2006.
Our mission at Rebound is to connect, empower, and restore vulnerable kids and families in Whatcom County. We are a faith-based organization that encourages servant leadership throughout our organization.
We believe every child and their family deserves to be loved and that every person can have their life changed through caring relationships, education, and community support. We accomplish this by building relationships, teaching social and emotional skills, connecting families with community help for physical needs and providing advocacy for families in crisis. We connect under-resourced families to healthy community by acting as a bridge between state agencies, communities of faith and local neighborhoods, creating places of belonging that nurture positive, sustained change.
Rebound is looking to grow in our capacity to care for the ever-growing number of vulnerable families in our community and to become more innovative, so that we may serve more effectively in a both a virtual and in person world.
We are looking for a skilled leader who can guide the overall administration of the organization’s finances, strategic planning, and vision, leading and equipping staff, public and community networking, and cultivating a close working relationship with the Board. They will be strategic, highly relational, inspirational, and innovative. They will be capable of coordinating staff and volunteers as well as external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear ability to establish staff and volunteer teams through personal care and support. In addition, they will have an urgent passion to serve vulnerable children and families.
The right candidate may come from a variety of backgrounds to include education, faith, small business, fundraising, counseling, corporate, nonproﬁt leadership. We value collaboration and adaptability and will support the Executive Director to be successful in their direction of this role.
The Executive Director is a leader responsible for overseeing all operations, providing day-to-day oversight of the organization and staﬀ. They will report to the Board of Directors.
Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the Board to ensure the mission is fulﬁlled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
Leadership: Be committed to Servant Leadership, leading and managing with a spirit of humility and teachable while modeling a servant’s heart.
Financial Performance & Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the ﬁnancial health of Rebound.
