The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Worker for the Seniors program. This position will provide clinical case management services, groups, and seminars to performing artist entertainment professionals, who are 65 years or older, their families and significant others with the goal of providing support, information and resources that assist people in maintaining a maximum level of independence. The social worker will also assess and process financial assistance grants for all social service departments, including disaster funds and COVID relief grants. This is currently a remote position with the expectation of an eventual return to The Fund's Los Angeles office.
The Social Worker, Senior Services will engage and work collaboratively with seniors, their families, and significant others to develop treatment plans which assess and identify strengths, needs, support systems, and gaps in services. Provide clinical case management, evaluate and advocate for financial assistance. Act as a liaison to internal and external resources on behalf of the client and the family system. Provide mental health assessments, crisis intervention and supportive counseling according to accepted best practices. Assess and process financial assistance grants for disaster funds and COVID relief for all social service departments.
Coordinate support services to insure appropriate referrals for homecare, financial wellness resources, and legal consultation and entitlements. Collaborate and advocate with unions, industry management, entertainment industry charities and community organizations to facilitate case plans. Visit clients at home, in the hospital, nursing home, assisted living and treatment program, as needed, to provide support and ensure continuity of care.
Develop and facilitate groups, panel presentations and seminars, which address the emotional, social, and health-related needs of the senior entertainment community. Responsible for program and resource development particular to the senior population to address legal issues such as estate planning, healthcare proxies, durable power of attorney, advance directives and living wills, housing resources.
Participate in outreach to the performing arts and entertainment community, by assisting with facilitation of groups, seminars, or trainings, as representative of the agency. Provide outreach and education to the community, speaking on behalf of the senior program and the agency. Maintain all paperwork and statistics pertinent to his/her client caseload.

This is a full-time salaried position based in The Actors Fund’s Western Region offices in Los Angeles.
