Description

The Analyst is a full-time, exempt position. The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data across the organization to support in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and long-term strategic planning. The successful candidate will be proficient in excel and comfortable working with complex financial data, have an understanding of general accounting principles, experience using financial systems, and ability to form collaborative working relationships.


Responsibilities:

Optimize FP&A process and reporting functionality in Adaptive Insights, cloud based budget management system, and other finance systems/tools. 

Analyze monthly budget-actual results and quarterly forecasts across organization and provide summarized reports to budget owners. 

Partner with business leaders to establish budgets and build forecasts. 

Lead in process improvement efforts on team. 

Support the preparation of financial reports for internal and external audiences (i.e. Authorizers, Budget Managers etc.). 

Complete monthly variation analyses between actuals and projections, and work with Accounting to reconcile discrepancies in data. 

Perform in-depth financial analysis, build and maintain strategic models, and develop fact-based recommendations to help make informed business decisions.


Qualifications:

Commitment and passion for Rocketship’s mission, vision, and goals 

3-4 years minimum experience in accounting, forecasting and planning 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (strong Accounting knowledge required) 

Strong understanding of, and experience with, accounting principles and financial statements 

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong general information systems experience and modeling skills 

Experience with visualization tool and financial planning tool, Adaptive Insights highly preferred 

Experience with accounting systems, such as Intacct, preferred 

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently 

Ability to creatively translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions. 

Ability to partner cross-functionally, through strong relationship building, influencing, negotiating and communication skills, with all levels of management. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
