Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator is a key part of the fundraising team at the International Festival of Arts & Ideas. They enjoy detailed work, thrive in creating and maintaining accurate records, understanding and creating systems and connecting with people. They are inspired by the Festival’s racial equity commitments and in connecting the work of the Development department toward a vision that authentically engages and celebrates diversity. The Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining donor information through daily gift entry, acknowledgement management and distribution, providing timely updates to constituent records and acting as central contact for the organization’s reporting needs on contributed revenue and list generation. She/he/they provide a critical role in ensuring supporters have a high-quality experience and feel connected with our organization’s work.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Process gifts and gift acknowledgements daily.
  • Maintain all aspects of CRM database including tracking of fundraising activities, donor tags and attributes, RSVP’s, data integrity, and act as liaison between the Festival and CRM customer support.
  • Work in concert with Development and Marketing teams to fulfill Insider membership benefits including ticket purchases and presales.
  • Support the Finance team by providing regular gift reports, backup and donation information for the Festival’s annual audit.
  • Work with the Development team on preparing and finalizing mailing lists for Development and Marketing communications, events, and activities.
  • Generate reports for goal projections and prospecting under the guidance of Director of Development.
  • Manage pledge reminder communications as needed throughout the year; send reminders; pull pledge reports monthly; manage follow up communications as needed.
  • Work with vendors on print projects.
  • Process payment requests with finance/Fraxion for Development department.
  • Assist with preparation of Development Committee reports and attend meetings to take notes.

 

BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a nonprofit support role, administrative role, or equivalent work or volunteer experience.
  • High level of discretion and ethical approach to data management.
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse constituents at all levels of the philanthropic landscape within the organization and the community.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM database management, Microsoft Office Suite, online fundraising programs and other computer skills as required or ability and willingness to learn. 
  • New Haven residents and applicants with strong ties to New Haven strongly encouraged to apply.
  • PLEASE NOTE: While some remote work is possible, the successful candidate should expect to work from our offices 3 or more days/week.


Compensation: $20/hr plus Benefits Package (including Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Paid Time Off)
