Position Summary 

GLI seeks a Program Coordinator to support the Pace-Gilder Lehrman Online Master’s Degree in American History. The program serves K-12 teachers across the nation and internationally. Each semester more than 400 students enroll in courses created and led by eminent historians from top universities. This role reports to the Manager of Online Courses and is based at GLI’s office in NYC. Strong candidates will be passionate about American history and excited to work with teachers.

Roles and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Student-facing responsibilities include aiding students' entry into and successful completion of the program, community building among students, alumni, and the Institute, and facilitation of video-Q&A sessions for program courses. Institute-facing responsibilities are primarily administrative. 

Student-Facing (45% of position):

  • Communicate with students, potential students and graduates through email, phone, and web-conference as they consider, apply to, enroll in, and complete the MA program
  • Facilitate approximately 50 Q&A sessions between course professors and students during the academic year. NOTE: Q&A sessions take place from 8:00 to 9:30 PM ET

Institute-Facing (45% of position):

  • Assemble, format, caption, license materials for use in Online MA courses
  • Report on enrollment and application numbers and course evaluations
  • Process contracts and payments

Faculty-Facing (10% of position):

  • Schedule Q&A sessions, course video shoot dates, professor travel and lodging
  • Collect course materials as needed 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in MS office including Excel and G-Suite applications
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems (Blackboard, Brightspace, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with providing high-level customer service (in a related field)
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to prioritize work and be flexible
  • Ability to work the evening hours detailed above
