Who we are looking for:


The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has an exciting opportunity for a high-performing and enthusiastic Program Assistant with a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience to join our growing Education, Science and Professional Development (ESPD) Department. As a member of the ESPD Department, the candidate will provide administrative support to the professional development (PD) programs, meetings and projects.

What you will do:


·        Provide program support to various Work Groups of the Professional Development Committee, including scheduling conference calls, and developing and disseminating meeting agendas, meeting minutes and materials

·        Provide administrative support to the Professional Development Manager to execute the Education Scholars Program (ESP) including coordinating tasks associated with the application, review and selection process, and respond to participant inquiries

·        Assist with administrative tasks related to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Women in Oncology initiatives, ASCO’s wellness initiatives and other Professional Development initiatives, including preparation and distribution of materials, volunteer communication and program evaluation

·        Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders including volunteers, program applicants and participants, providing exemplary customer service

·        Provide logistics support for meetings and onsite ESPD sessions

·        Update and maintain website content

·        Provide support for other projects as needed


What you will need in order to be successful:


  • Baachelor’s degree or equivalent training or work experience

·        At least 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in a customer service role

·        Superior interpersonal and communication skills; including oral, written, and listening

·        Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment

·        Comfortable with learning and adapting to new technology

·        Strong attention to detail and focused on quality control

·        Commitment to work within a team to meet timelines and deliverables with a strong focus on customer service
