About Partners for Youth Empowerment

Partners for Youth Empowerment is a Seattle area global non-profit dedicated to unleashing the creative potential of young people. We do this by training teachers and youth workers to lead transformative programs that develop equity, creativity, emotional intelligence, and community engagement. We are a lean organization that achieves a large impact. In 2019, together with our international partners, we trained over 6000 practitioners in 20 countries and reached over 1 million young people with programs that build creativity, confidence, and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our dynamic team with an energetic go-getter who wants to engage and grow their development talents. The Advancement Associate will play an essential role in increasing PYEs financial resources, actively assisting in the development and management of foundation funding, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, small fundraising parties, and other creative fundraising endeavors. This is a full time, fully remote position. 

Responsibilities include:  

Working with Leadership 

  • Work closely the Executive Director to implement PYEs fundraising plan and ensure fundraising initiatives are fully executed to a high standard. 
  • Contribute creative fundraising ideas. 
  • Engage with <$1,000 donors to deepen their understanding of PYE’s work.
  • Ensure effective, ongoing donor engagement for all major donors. 
  • Maintain efficient fundraising processes through database upkeep. 

Grants and Foundations / Corporate Sponsors 

  • Research, establish, and maintain relationships with grant agencies and foundations.
  • Work with Leadership on reports and grant compliance. 

High Value Donors

  • Work with Leadership to identify and connect with potential new donors.
  • Work with Leadership to secure major donors.
  • Grow PYE Champion Network with Executive Director.

Communications and Organization

  • Manage PYEs donor and constituent database
  • Develop clear communications for donors and stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate fundraising communications.

Online and In-person Events

  • Coordinate campaign and communications for annual giving events: GiveBIG and Giving Tuesday and End of Year Giving 
  • Manage at least three small gathering / fundraising events per year (online or in-person in Seattle) 


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 3-5 years fundraising/development/advancement experience for non-profit organizations.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fully remote working environment 
  • Attention to detail is especially important for this role
  • Comfort making asks of up to $1,000 
  • Experience with planned giving preferred
  • Strong management of donor and constituent database, with Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral skills and ability to articulate the mission and vision of PYE to diverse audiences
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Sensitivity and tact when working with donor community. Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality of prospect and donor information 
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, entrepreneurial, creative, innovative thinker, and doer
  • Knowledge of the youth sector and passion for youth empowerment
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar integrated donor database system
  • Experience with Mailchimp
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training

 

Work Location: PYE offers a fully remote team environment. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required for the occasional (~3) in-person fundraising events per year. Washington state residents, followed by Pacific Time zone applicants will be prioritized. 

Salary Information:$50,000 / year
