The Art Connection enriches and empowers underserved communities by providing access to original works of visual art. We seek a new Executive Director to further streamline operations, build a sustainable business, deepen community partnerships, and develop committed financial support. • Work closely with Board of Directors to develop long-term strategy and goals

• Support Board Chair in development of an effective and diverse Board

• Communicate vision and goals to all constituencies in a way that generates excitement and support

• Develop key relationships with artists, agencies, and core supporters of the mission, in the context of the Boston arts and social purpose ecosystem


• Hire, manage, and develop a motivated staff to accomplish agreed-upon goals

• Manage and expand primary Art Donation and Placement program

• Grow programs, such as Artful Seeds, to enrich and empower underserved communities.

• Deepen relationships with key social service agency partners

• Find ways to grow earned income


• Act as primary fundraiser for the organization, via a strategy and measurable plan

• Ensure relationships with existing financial donors are well managed and continue to grow

• Establish new relationships with foundations, corporations, and individuals of means

• Identify grant opportunities, write persuasive proposals, and cultivate relationships to close

• Leverage events to generate revenue


• Develop strategy for marketing and communication to all major audiences, using multiple platforms

• Heighten The Art Connection’s existing brand awareness strategy and generate effective PR

• Work with Board of Directors to execute Annual Report that communicates to major audiences

• Work with external sources as needed to move marketing plan forward

QUALIFICATIONS • Five or more years of non-profit management and leadership experience

• Ability to generate excitement in all stakeholders for The Art Connection’s essential future

• Ability to use technology and social media to streamline and augment operational processes

• Proven ability to lead and organize fundraising

• Ability to manage budgets and forecasts

• Comfort working in an open office environment

• Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with diverse stakeholders

• Self-motivated, with demonstrated initiative and follow-through

• Familiarity and comfort in two worlds: social services and visual arts


Masters Degree preferred and/or related knowledge and experience in arts management
