The Bookkeeper - Grants Specialist will assist with overseeing financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate financials including accounts payable and receivables, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This position will also assist the Executive Director in managing grant invoicing, including Government grants, and grant tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Monthly financial reporting.
  2. Ensuring deposits are made in a timely manner.
  3. Payroll processing.
  4. Maintaining general ledger and recording entries and adjustments.
  5. Reconcile credit card donations made through the donor tracking and banking systems.
  6. Monthly bank reconciliations.
  7. Manage prepaid expense tracking and on-line accounting.
  8. Input annual budget into on-line accounting system.
  9. Assist Executive Director in grant budget development and ongoing management and tracking.
  10. Manage grant invoicing, tracking and reporting following donor/government standards and policies.
  11. Maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and community partners and attend internal and external meetings, as requested. 
  12. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times given information this position will regularly access.

  • Prior experience with Quickbooks accounting software is required.
  • Prior experience in accounting/bookkeeping role is required.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Ability to analyze information
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and interact in a professional manner with program participants and community partners
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Work with web-based and computer applications
  • Previous work experience at non-profit preferred
