POSITION TITLE:                Planned Giving Officer                               

 

DEPARTMENT:                   Development

 

REPORTS TO:                    Development Director

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION: 

The Planned Giving Officer is responsible for cultivating and soliciting donors to include Covenant House in their estate plans and stewarding them to effectively deepen their relationship with and support of Covenant House. This is a part time position (20 hours per week).


JOB DUTIES:

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement plans to cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of Planned Giving donors from Georgia.
  • Utilize personalized communications and face-to-face visits to advance prospects through all phases of the Moves Management Process.
  • Manage incoming requests for information on Covenant House’s Planned Giving program from donors who live in Georgia.
  • Assist in the planning of Planned Giving events and conference calls.
  • Ensure that information regarding donors and prospects learned in the course of engagement is well documented and added to the database system.
  • Attend fundraising seminars and trainings that are relevant to the position.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Driver’s license required.
  • Must possess exceptional relationship building, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently while understanding the importance of being an effective team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to interact with great skill and ease with donors in business & social settings.
  • Must be available to travel within the state of Georgia.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the mission of Covenant House and the work done by the agency.
  • Commitment to Covenant House’s mission to serve homeless youth.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least three (3) years of fundraising experience.
  • Experience working with Planned Giving donors is preferred.
