Development Coordinator (Foundation, Corporate, Donor Relations)

Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, the Development Coordinator (Foundation, Corporate, Donor Relations) is responsible for providing administrative and development support of considerable difficulty for a complex and growing stewardship operation. The selected candidate is also responsible for providing support in the administration of the scholarship program, and works independently in coordinating event logistics, and drafting, editing, and proofreading correspondence, briefings and reports for donor relations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·       Prepare drafts of original writing and tailor existing fundraising materials, including acknowledgement letters, annual scholarship and stewardship reports, fundraising appeal letters, for specific audiences and in various voices, and perform copy editing, content updates, and fact checking for annual scholarship and stewardship reports and other specialized fundraising materials.

·       Prepare letters of inquiry for prospective foundation and corporate funders, fundraising solicitation letters for leadership level donors, briefings and materials for meetings with current and potential funders, acknowledgment letters for leadership, and content for University and Donor Scholarship website and social media accounts and other Institutional Advancement publications.

·       Research and identify prospective foundation and corporate funders utilizing prospect research software and online resources to gather relevant information and data for grant and stewardship reports and proposals; manage the internal process for grant awards, program budgets, financial reports, and payment processing to ensure compliance with existing systems.

·       Administer the Donor Scholarship program utilizing Blackbaud Award Management scholarship software and Banner database; audit compliance and monitor eligibility requirements for scholarship renewals, revocations, and awards; assist with outreach to publicize scholarship application period.

·       Serve as a point person to faculty and students for the Blackbaud Award Management scholarship software and process; validate, troubleshoot, and correct inconsistent data; assist faculty and students with accessing AW to submit recommendation letters and applications; ensure consistency of contribution records and identifies and correct discrepancies.

·       Coordinate logistics for stewardship events, including annual Scholarship Celebration (i.e. tracking attendance and RSVPs, event materials, catering, A/V needs, etc.) and assist with other Institutional Advancement division events (i.e., Legacy Gala, Homecoming. Golf Outing, Presidential cultivation dinners) as needed.

·       Represent Donor Relations and Corporate and Foundation Relations offices at meetings and events.

·       Oversee administrative support functions including maintenance and update of stewardship calendar.

·       Monitor budget expenditures and process requisitions for the department.

·       Serve as liaison and maintains cooperative relationships with external and internal constituents.

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.

·       Two (2) years of professional experience in a similar environment exercising autonomous decision making and project management.

·       Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

·       Detailed oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

·       Ability to work independently to analyze and interpret information presented from a variety of sources and ask informed questions to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate and informative reports.

·       Ability to both understand and adhere to University and donor policies and procedures for compliance with grant budgets, reports, payment and scholarship award processing; ability to make appropriate recommendations for policy and/or procedural changes.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (*Word, Excel, Power Point) required. *Candidates invited for interview will have skills assessment conducted.

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Three (3) years’ experience in higher education and/or fund raising, familiarity with student records and forms, as well as financial aid forms.

·       Understanding of fundraising policies and procedures.

·       Experience with Blackbaud Award Management scholarship software and Banner strongly preferred.

·       Quick learner who takes initiative and enjoys 'owning a project'.
