ABOUT THE POSITION: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing, or arranging for, the repair and maintenance of the physical assets (property and equipment) for Compass Housing Alliance, a multi-facility housing agency with 20+ buildings in the Seattle-King County Metropolitan area. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU)

LOCATION: Compass on Dexter building in South Lake Union

REPORTS TO: Interim Facilities Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Saturday-Wednesday 7am-3:30pm with staff meetings monthly

SALARY RANGE: $19.21 per hour


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma/GED is strongly desired, Associate degree preferred, or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a maintenance capacity or related field.
  • Technical school or maintenance-related certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence desirable.
