Location: 90% remote, Outer Banks, NC area preferred

About ARTS

A Reason To Smile (ARTS) is a young, exciting, ambitious nonprofit looking for an Program Manager who matches our energy and passion for giving the world a reason to smile. We travel far and wide to empower communities to achieve and maintain better oral health by providing dental treatment, hygiene education, and supplies to those with little to no access to local dental professionals. Join our team and help us scale the organization to support more volunteers, more trips, and ultimately, more smiling patients.


Our mission is to empower communities without access to dental professionals to achieve and maintain a higher level of oral health by providing hygiene education, direct treatment, and dental supplies.


The Position

The Program Manager will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day operations of A Reason To Smile, reporting to the Board of Directors. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

-       Maintaining accurate records and inventory

-       Corresponding with potential volunteers and donors

-       Seeking and establishing relationships with new donors and sponsors

-       Managing a budget of $50,000-$75,000 per year

-       Planning and implementing fundraisers

-       Seeking and applying for grants

-       Maintaining a robust communications platform (including website, newsletters, social

        media, and outside publications)

-       Forming partnerships with businesses, dental schools, hygiene schools, dental assisting

        schools, related nonprofits, and other organizations as applicable


Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, hard-working individual who can take initiative to complete tasks and suggest ideas without constant oversight.


We are looking for a passionate individual who:

-       Has a bachelor’s degree, preferably in nonprofit administration, public health, or another   

        health-or management-related field

-       Has at least two years of experience with nonprofit management, preferably in the

        international and/or health fields

-       Has experience fundraising and managing budgets

-       Is extremely detail-oriented, with clear and proven organizational skills

-       Has excellent verbal and written communication skills

-       Is able to adhere to tight deadlines while delivering precise work

-       Can provide and receive respectful feedback

-       Is active and eager to participate in team and organization initiatives
