Levine Music is seeking a passionate theater production manager to work with the students, faculty and staff of Act Two @ Levine. Act Two @ Levine Music has become the première musical theatre training program in the Washington, DC metro area training over 100 students a year in three programs: Main Stage Production (middle and high school); Pre-Professional (high school); First Act (grades 5-8).

Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, proactive, flexible and patient. We are looking for a bright, organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communications skills, who possess a good attitude and the ability to take direction and follow through on multiple projects at once. Applicants must be dependable and reliable and willing to learn and be flexible with job duties. Experience in theater required with experience working with student actors preferred. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency are a must. 


  • Coordinate audition dates (June and September) with Artistic Director, Music Director and Campus staff
  • Create and manage online audition sign up link
  • Communicate with and assist parents & students in the audition sign up process
  • Coordinate with Marketing Team and Campus staff on the promotion of audition schedule
  • Manage auditions for all programs
  • Coordinate offer letters and track acceptances
  • Manage prospective waitlists


  • Primary point of contact with families interested in participating in Act Two
  • Assist parents & students with the enrollment process
  • Provide customer service and aid with enrollment problems
  • Liaise with student services, finance, MD campus staff and families on enrollment status
  • Work with tuition assistance team to distribute letters and follow up with tuition needs
  • Communicate with prospective families about the variety of additional offerings at Levine (General) and redirect to other departments when necessary


o  Manage communication between the cast, cast families, and all members of the artistic team (director, music director, sound/light designer, technical director, vocal coach, and voice chair)

o  Create and manage the company’s year-long production and rehearsal schedule

o  Manage calendar and student conflicts in VSM (Virtual Stage Management)

o  Create Pre-Professional information binders

o  Manage rehearsal materials: scores, scripts, rehearsal folders

o  Assist in managing cast behavior

o  Create rehearsal reports

o  Manage spaces when multiple rehearsals happening simultaneously and maintain cleanliness and organization of rehearsal spaces

o  Maintain prompt book and contact lists

o  Take attendance

Tech Week and Performances:

o  Manage communication between the cast, cast families, and all members of the artistic team

o  Communicate with creative team to manage all technical elements

o  Coordinate and participate in all show load-ins/load-outs

o  Support other areas of technical production: scenic, scenic painting, costumes, props, sound, and light

o  Run backstage during performances

General Administration:

  • Work in collaboration with Campus Coordinator regarding all Act Two marketing needs and requests.
  • Coordinate with Campus Coordinator on providing content for Act Two Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Work in collaboration MD Campus team to spearhead plan for front of house: ticket sales, volunteers and programs
  • Coordinate program content in collaboration with the Marketing team and Campus Coordinator

o  Liaise with rental partners (schedule walk-throughs and communicate schedule and production needs), creative partners, and reviewers

o  Assist with overall department budget tracking in collaboration with Department Chair and Head of Education

o  Track all production spending and update Act Two @ Levine budget

o  Create production analysis, cast and contact lists, rehearsal reports, meeting notes, swing schedules, and mic lists

o  General organizational support for all Act Two outside events (galas, special performances, juried events, master classes, etc)

o  Participate in production purchasing and rentals

o  Manage use and return of scores, copy materials and music



  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Music or theater) or equivalent experience with a non-profit and/or arts organization
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Personable manner and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)

Salary range: Commensurate with experience.
