The FIMRC team includes dedicated staff and volunteers worldwide who provide the leadership and support necessary to achieve our mission of improving access to health care for families in underserved communities. Fully staffed clinics and project sites utilize community outreach and education to compliment the direct medical care that we provide in many of our locations across the globe. FIMRC operates in nine countries: Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru, India, Uganda and the Philippines.

FIMRC has an outstanding opportunity for the Field Operations Manager (FOM) in the Philippines. The FOM coordinates all in-country FIMRC logistics for Project Cavite and works closely with FIMRC partners, partner clinical staff, community members, and volunteers to maximize the impact of the clinics in the communities we serve. The FOM is essential to carrying out our mission of providing access to medical care and education to underprivileged and medically underserved families around the world. Below is an outline of responsibilities that the position entails.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Area of Focus 1: Volunteer Management 30% - 100% of time depending on time of year

  • Coordinate the Global Health Volunteer Program (GHVP) for all volunteers traveling to Cavite and Manila in conjunction with FIMRC's Volunteer Programs Manager (USA-based);
  • Train volunteers in intercultural understanding and sensitivity;
  • Work with project staff to develop unique itineraries for our international volunteers based on skill level, time in country, and interests;
  • Coordinate the Health Education Program and community campaigns with GHVP volunteers;
  • Serve as a resource to the GHVP volunteers with information about Filipino health care and the needs of the communities in which FIMRC works;
  • Coordinate all transportation, housing and dietary request for GHVP Volunteers;
  • Work with Master’s Practicum Students, Fellows, Ambassadors, and Interns to develop sustainable community projects prior to their arrival and then closely monitor their work in the project site;
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to any volunteer emergencies or problems;
  • Follow all response procedures and protocols for responding to various volunteer emergencies;
  • Assist volunteers in coordinating free-time activities to visit local tourist attractions;

Area of Focus 2: Health Education and Community Outreach 30% - 100% of time depending on time of year

  • Monitor a strong health education program for the communities being served based on community diagnostics and local needs in conjunction with community health workers, rural health unit staff and partner universities and organizations;
  • Coordinate the health education program and community campaigns with GHVP volunteers when appropriate;
  • Create systems to effectively monitor and evaluate community outreach programs in the community and make necessary changes based on results;

Area of Focus 3: Project and Partnership Management 30% - 100% of time depending on time of year

  • Manage and conduct fiscal operations, including accounting, budget planning, authorizing expenditures and coordinating financial reporting;
  • Supervise and provided technical support to Community organizers and FIMRC house staff;
  • Maintain patient database and patient census related to Phil PEN screenings;
  • Coordinate all FIMRC related activities with the municipal government and the University of Philippines, among others;
  • Track number of community members served through the projects and complete official reports to be sent to the national office;
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local and international agencies and organizations to further FIMRC's mission in the community and on a national level;
  • Manage the relationship of other partner organizations and initiatives in Manila;
  • Manage special initiatives directly related to the project sites and project needs;
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting all legal documentation to the Philippine Government Ministries to ensure FIMRC abides by all Philippine laws and regulations;
  • Serve as Philippines’s legal representative to enter into contracts and other legal obligations.


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., etc)
  • Best mix of personality (we're a small fun-loving bunch!) and skill set
  • 2 years international experience and strong intercultural communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong quantitative aptitude
  • Expert user of MS Excel and Word
  • Interest in global health programs and research
  • Conversational Tagalog is highly preferred
  • Excellent ability to manage multicultural team in low resource setting
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivation, flexibility, ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic, highly creative environment
  • Ability to build and maintain strong partnership with organizations at various levels

  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience, ranges from $9,600 – $13,000
