Title:          Inventory Control Coordinator   

Department:   Inventory Control, Finance

Reports to:    Senior Manager of Inventory Control

Locations:     355 Food Center Drive – (Bronx Warehouse) (This is not a Remote Position)

 

SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal control over the physical product flow and accounting of inventory receiving, shipping, and other inventory areas. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Inventory Control and works closely with the warehouse inventory management team to ensure that systems and programs are sufficient to meet company’s inventory needs, and independently develops strategies and tactics for improving operational efficiencies while improving service levels and reducing inventory variances.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Senior Manager in investigating and reporting inventory variances and discrepancies, including shortages, overages, cycle count variances
  • Compiles and reviews data from receipt and distribution processes to determine compliance with policies and procedures 
  • Record system adjustments as required and participate in root cause analysis for needed adjustments
  • Assist in the audit process and reporting in compliance with GAAP and other government contractual obligations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control processes and procedures
  • Responsible for validation and processing of inventory return authorizations 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable with the ability to work in a Warehouse environment, including freezer
  • Must be able to lift 30 -50 lbs.
  • Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling and occasional use of manual pallet jack. 
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. 
  • Must be able to work in sub-freezing temperatures for periods of time with protective clothing. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years proven experience in audit processes/procedures, physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • 2+ years of experience Accounting, including Inventory Management Systems
  • Display professional demeanor and superior customer service at all times.
  • Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v- lookups, pivot tables)
  • Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to Food Bank’s core values
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement
