Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for contribution to and implementation of marketing strategies to promote the Goodwill brand to external audiences.


Essential Functions

Work with the Marketing Manager to coordinate and implement all marketing and advertising campaigns; write advertising copy as assigned.

Coordinate advertising schedules and placements; collaborate with marketing and communications team members to align advertising and marketing with all external messaging.

Coordinate advertising buys, including assistance with budget, determining and measuring ROIs, tracking and integration of reports correlating advertising to sales, and strategy.

Monitor and track marketing and advertising expenses.

Coordinate media advertising program for all internal clients including Retail, JTE and Development. Develop budgets and ad buy proposals.

Assist with paid sponsorships and related deliverables. Create a tracking and governance system for contract deliverables.

Lead or participate in marketing, communications and brand projects and campaigns as a member of the Marketing and Communications Department team.

Work closely with retail store managers and operations, Job Training managers and with other departments to communicate and coordinate marketing strategies and tactics.

In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, write marketing plans, as assigned.

Provide project management on assigned projects and plans, including working with established systems and technology and in compliance with content development and asset management processes.

Maintain vendor relationships with photographers, printers, and consultants, as assigned.

In collaboration with the Marketing Manager maintain the advertising editorial calendar.

Adhere to content development processes to produce accurate marketing and communications deliverables.

Oversee retail direct marketing including text messaging and email programs, develop strategies for growth.

Manage ongoing marketing messaging on web and in store channels.

Coordinate marketing integration, maintenance, reporting and analysis of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

Represent Seattle Goodwill in the community and assist at organizational events.

Update Marketing and Communications SharePoint pages as a member of the Marketing and Communications Team.

Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field or related experience.

Experience: Minimum five years' experience in marketing or communications with medial buying responsibilities.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Database experience a plus. Ability to work as a member of a team as well as to work independently. Outstanding interpersonal communications skills.


Essential Physical Abilities:

Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; Standing for long periods of time; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders. Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).

Working Conditions:

Office working environment. This position may require travel to store locations, and attending offsite meetings and events. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
