interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth is a national nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to raising intersex visibility, empowering intersex activism, and promoting laws and policies that end nonconsensual interventions performed on the up to 2% of the population born intersex (with variations in their physical sex characteristics). interACT is a 501(c) 3 incorporated in CA and is 15 years old. It is the largest organization in the world dedicated to fighting for the human right of bodily autonomy and decision-making power for all intersex youth. Our small staff works from remote home offices in various U.S. locations.
Purpose of External Consultant
This consulting engagement is a temporary position with possibility of extension/a full time position. The role will be to ensure financial stability through fundraising for interACT during a period of leadership transition, as a long-serving ED retires and an interim manages operations until we are financially able to hire a new ED.
The consultant will work with organizational leadership and in particular the board to assess the current fundraising program, develop strategies, actionable plans, and goals in top-priority areas, and execute those plans--especially guiding the board and staff around how to secure major gifts. Performance metrics are flexible and the decision to turn the position full-time will be measured against jointly-developed goals with the consultant and organizational leadership.
October 1 through the end of January, 2022, with a possible ongoing relationship.
Our team works remotely, so we have no location requirements. Applicants must be available to regularly meet with colleagues during business hours in the US.
