 ABOUT FIRST 5 FUNDAMENTALS

First 5 Fundamentals (F5F) is a collective projects incubator founded as a non-profit organization in 2008. Our vision is that communities across Washington State design and implement solutions to complex problems together. Our mission is to uphold communities in achieving their collective goals for children and families. We are passionate about making the world a better place for children and families by harnessing the strengths and ideas that live within communities. F5F currently supports four initiatives – the Pierce County Early Childhood Network, Washington Communities for Children, Northwest Early Learning Coalition, and Visions for Early Learning Coalition. Learn more about our organization and values here.

ABOUT WASHINGTON COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN

Washington Communities for Children (WCFC) is a statewide network of Regional Early Childhood Coalitions (see picture below). Our mission is to connect and coordinate local and statewide efforts across Washington’s early childhood system. WCFC Regions have trusted relationships with over 1,000 local organizations and individuals, including early learning providers, social service agencies, early intervention services, child welfare organizations, libraries, juvenile courts, school districts, public health agencies, higher education, families, and many others. WCFC Regions are supported by a team of specialists, or State Leads, focused on policy and advocacy, equity, data, and community engagement. These coalitions, organizations, and individuals aim to build relationships, learn together, identify challenges, and test ideas, all in the spirit of improving child and family wellbeing.
