SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a full-time position within the Education & Career Services Department reporting to the Adult Career Services Program Manager and working closely with other members of the department’s workforce solutions team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Design:

  • Participate in efforts to reposition employment readiness training (ERT) to a model that simulates a workplace environment and that reinforces characteristics that high quality employers demand of their workforce.

Business Development:

·        Develop a sales, marketing and brand positioning strategy including a marketing package that promotes NMIC’s workforce brand to participants, employers and other key stakeholders.

·        Build a strong and sustainable book of business that can provide a continuous pipeline of quality internship and employment opportunities in a variety of industries with career ladder potential.

·        Utilize data and workforce studies to sell the benefits of programming when working with both job seekers and employers.

·        Design, test and implement a wide range of employment support services (e.g., labor market education, career assessments, etc.) to produce high-value placements.

·        Utilize data management and tracking tools to track all candidate interviews, employer feedback and placement data.

Relationship Management:

·        Attend program meetings and staff development events.

·        Manage relationships with stakeholders, including funders, program partners, technical assistance providers, program candidates and others.

·        Interview, screen and evaluate candidates’ job readiness prior to referral to employment interviews.

·        Perform mock interviews/employment readiness preparation with candidates when necessary, or refer candidates to staff for further coaching.

·        Match interview referrals to candidates’ interests, occupational training tracks and skill sets.

·        Follow up with employers to get feedback on candidates and to secure documentation verifying candidates’ employment outcomes.

Administrative Duties:

·        Monitor placement outcomes to ensure programs are on track to meet annual performance goals.

·        Submit weekly and monthly reports on account management activities, job placements and business development activities.

·        Work closely with leadership staff and other stakeholders to develop a customized, dynamic ERT curriculum that includes presentations, worksheets, multimedia elements and activities to support candidate learning in multi-level classrooms.

·        Become proficient with data tracking tools, including NMIC’s database, to support performance management.

·        Attend all division, department and agency meetings, trainings or workshops as required.

Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, marketing/sales, and/or youth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication ability, including presentation techniques and interpersonal skills.
  • A background in quality assurance, program design, project management and managing large scale work plans and working groups
  • Superior problem solving skills and results-oriented.
  • Strong working knowledge of all MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
