The Consortium for Research & Robotics' STEM Coordinator will be responsible for successfully building upon the existing and unique STEM program launched at CRR in 2015. Today the program successfully serves approximately 200 students a year through CRR's unique research environment and use of frontier technologies such as industrial robotics, VR, CNC Milling, and other digital manufacturing techniques to tie learning back to school math, science, engineering, and physics curricula.

CRR's STEM Coordinator will be responsible for the management of all phases of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programming at CRR. This includes managing, logistics, support, partner relationships and all aspects of delivering an exceptional STEM program. The STEM Coordinator will be responsible for directing the staff, faculty, student employees and graduate assistants in the planning and delivery of STEM activities as a harmonious contribution to the larger programmatic ecosystem established at the Consortium for Research & Robotics since its founding in 2014.

The Consortium for Research & Robotics' STEM Coordinator will report to CRR's Executive Director and work on a daily basis with the Robotics Operations Manager at CRR.

Job Duties:
  • Strategic Planning: for the management and growth of all STEM activities undertaken by CRR as a research center of the Pratt Institute.
  • Logistics: Working closely with CRR Staff to ensure that STEM program activities, staffing, use of technology, computers, and all CRR resources are efficiently managed
  • Communication: The CRR STEM Coordinator will be responsible for communicating effectively with CRR Staff,
  • Scheduling: Working with partner institutions, the CRR STEM Coordinator will schedule and coordinate all STEM engagements with affiliate institutions.
  • Faculty and Student Training: The CRR STEM Coordinator will be responsible for training, oversight and recruitment of STEM educators and student staff affiliated with the STEM program
  • Supporting administrative management of student staff.
  • Data: The CRR STEM Coordinator will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and storing essential data about STEM programming.
  • Metrics: The CRR STEM Coordinator will design and maintain all forms, surveys, polls and other metrics collecting platforms
  • STEM information management including registration documentation, curricula, calendars and files.
  • Under supervision of the Executive Director, engaging in development activities including responses to RFP's, grant writing, event planning and hosting, tours, and community relationships.
  • Shepherding relationships with external entities including schools, community organizations, universities, educators, and cultural institutions.
  • Maintaining materials and supplies inventory in support of STEM programs.
  • Engaging, where appropriate, other CRR programmatic operations, including industry research and development, incubated businesses, and academic research.
  • Continuously developing and remaining current with technological and analog skillsets to be consistent with educators' and students' needs, including both software and hardware.


Education: Bachelor's degree in education, business management, design, technology, or applicable field.

Experience: 2+ years' experience working with community organizations or education programs, working knowledge of STEM learning strategies and platforms, and some comprehension and interest in the frontier technologies and associated processes espoused by CRR.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • The ability and willingness to overcome all daily obstacles in order to achieve concrete outcomes.
  • Meticulous record-keeping and an ability to focus on the full completion of tasks in a chaotic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidate must have the ability to relate complex systems to all types of learners and audiences and to apply technological manufacturing knowledge to educational objectives.
  • A strong interest in social justice, enthusiasm for education, and curiosity about solutions to large-scale problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to work with internal teams, government agencies and private corporation personnel in a collegial and businesslike manner.
  • Preferred qualifications include history of participation in funded education, design, and technology-focused projects.
